- preparing and carrying out campaigns relating to key governmental programme priorities
- carrying out general information campaigns relating to European issues for the domestic public
- providing professional and technical support in organising and carrying out communication campaigns of ministries relating to key government programme projects
- together with the government spokesperson, preparing training and professional development for public relations representatives at ministries and government offices
- performing activities related to direct forms of communication of the Government with citizens
- drawing up guidelines for standards for the Government's communication with the public
- co-ordinating the web communication of the GCO

- maintaining and updating promotional and informative material published on the web sites managed by the GCO;
- planning, conducting and coordinating general promotional and information activities and appearances by the state abroad, and following and analysing their effectiveness
- together with the government spokesperson, preparing and conducting organised communications campaigns, in particular those related to the most important presentations of Slovenia abroad
- publishing general promotional materials about Slovenia
- managing the national brand
